A studio engineering company built around calm broadcasts
fameova plans, builds and supports live television studios from a yard in Gloucester. This page explains how we work and what that means for a producer handing us a project.
Who we are and how we began
fameova was founded in Gloucester in 2012 to plan and build studios for live television. We work on camera positions, lighting, acoustics and gallery workflows. Our aim is a broadcast that runs quietly from rehearsal to credits.
Most of our work starts with a room that is almost right. It might be a former warehouse, a hall used for events or an older studio that has outgrown its cabling. We look at what the programme needs to do, then decide what the room can support before anything is ordered.
We keep design, engineering and crew work under one roof. The people who draw the layout also test the signal path, and the people who test it often stand in the gallery on the first live day. Nothing is passed along without being explained.
Our clients are producers, broadcasters, venues and organisations that want a dependable live television studio. Some are building from bare walls, others are upgrading a single department such as lighting or intercom. We adjust the scope to the job and say plainly what it covers.
Every installation is checked against a written test plan before handover. Cameras, audio, talkback, graphics and playout are run together, not one by one, because faults usually appear where systems meet. Rehearsals then happen on equipment that has already been proven.
After handover we stay reachable. Studios change as programmes change, and a call to the people who built the room is quicker than starting again with a stranger. That ongoing relationship is the part of the work we value most.
A good studio is one nobody mentions on air. If the crew is calm and the picture is steady, we have done the quiet part of the job properly.

Practical habits behind every installation
These are the working choices a client can expect to see, from the first site visit to the last rehearsal. They are routines, not slogans, and each one exists because it prevents a known problem.
Drawings before equipment
We agree layout, cable routes and furniture on paper first. Changes are cheap at that stage and disruptive once walls, trunking and desks are in place.
One accountable team
Design, lighting, audio and gallery work are planned together. You deal with people who know the whole room rather than a chain of separate suppliers.
Low heat, clean light
LED rigs are chosen for stable colour and little heat, so presenters stay comfortable through long programmes and faces read well on camera.
Written test plans
Each build is checked against a test plan Daniel Okafor writes for that studio. The results are shared at handover so your engineers know what was proven.
Rehearsal-led schedules
We work back from your first rehearsal and live date. Systems are tested together early, leaving time to fix what the combined test reveals.
Support after handover
Crews and engineers remain available once the studio is live, whether you need a day of cover or a second look at a recurring fault.
What we stand for
Reliability
A live programme has no second take. We build in redundancy where it matters, test under realistic load and prefer proven routines to novelty on show day.
Clarity
We explain what we are doing and why, in plain terms. Quotes, test results and handover notes are written so a producer can follow them without an engineering background.
Craft
Neat cabling, balanced lighting and well-placed microphones are small things that add up. We take time over them because audiences and crews notice when they are missing.
The kind of work and clients we serve
fameova has worked in live television since 2012, and the company is based in Gloucester. We support news programmes, interviews, panel shows and live events, for producers, broadcasters, venues and organisations. The team is four people who lead design, engineering, lighting and camera work, with crews added as each job requires.
